Michael L. Simms

Michael Simms is an experienced technology professional with a robust background in insurance and publishing systems. Currently serving as Vice President and Program Director at Donegal Insurance Group since September 2008, Michael is responsible for Guidewire Core Applications, including policy, billing, and claims management. Previously, Michael held positions as Assistant Vice President and Manager of Application Programming at Donegal Insurance Group, overseeing system management for policy and claims. Prior to that, Michael was the IT Director of Technology at The Baltimore Sun, leading the technology department and managing business and production systems. Early career experience includes roles as IT Publishing Systems Manager and Programmer at The Baltimore Sun, and Computer Programmer at Johns Hopkins Hospital, focusing on mainframe COBOL and CICS development. Michael holds a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and an AA in Data Processing from Harford Community College.
