Erdem Ovacik has a diverse work experience. Erdem is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Bike Sharing Group and a Board Member at Cycling Industries Europe. Erdem also holds the role of CoFounder and Executive Board Member at Donkey Republic, a company that provides bike sharing solutions. Previously, they were a Consultant at Social Finance, where they supported international activities and advised social businesses. Erdem also worked as an SIB Development Consultant at Social Kontrakt, helping develop the social impact bond financing business model. Erdem was a CoFounder of Wedecide.com, a platform that facilitated policy development by citizens. Erdem has also worked as an Entrepreneurship teacher at DIS - Danish Institute for Study Abroad and as a Business Development Manager at MYC4. Erdem started their career as a Consultant at McKinsey.
Erdem Ovacik's education history begins in 1991 when they attended Alman Lisesi and obtained an Abitur degree. From 1999 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boğaziçi University. Later, they attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2005 to 2007, where they earned a Master of Public Policy degree.
In addition to their formal education, Erdem Ovacik has also obtained several certifications. In February 2009, they became a certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance. In May 2016, they completed the Founders of Tomorrow - Danske Ideer program at DareDisrupt. Most recently, in March 2019, Erdem completed the Growth Hacking Crash Course at Growth Tribe Academy.
