Maira Vargas has a diverse work experience history. Maira started their career as a Smithsonian Intern at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in 2018. In 2019, they worked as an Assistant Camp Educator at the same museum and also became a Student Fellow at Vassar College. In 2020, they interned at the Educational Video Center, focusing on development, communications, and data management. In 2021, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Breakthrough New York and later joined DonorsChoose as a Donor Researcher and Moderator. Maira also held various roles at The Opportunity Network, including Fellow and Student Services and Program Operations (SSPO) Intern. Most recently, Maira has been serving as an Equity & Experience Fellow and Partnership Activation Fellow at DonorsChoose.
Maira Vargas began their education journey at Columbia Secondary School from 2014 to 2018. During this time, they obtained an Advanced Regents High School Diploma, although their field of study is unspecified. Following their high school graduation, Maira Vargas pursued higher education at Vassar College from 2018 to 2022. During their time at Vassar College, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Education.
