Tekia Stokes, SHRM-SCP, PHR

Tekia Stokes has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Tekia is currently working as the Vice President of People and Talent at DonorsChoose from November 2022. Prior to that, from June 2022 to November 2022, they served as the Chief People and Operating Officer at The Hub Project. From January 2021 to June 2022, they worked as the Director of Talent and Equity at City Fund. Earlier, from July 2019 to January 2021, they held the position of Director of Talent and Operations at The Hub Project. Before that, from February 2019 to July 2019, they worked as the Human Resources Manager at the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). Additionally, they worked as a Senior Program Manager at PDK International from January 2018 to February 2019. Lastly, from June 2015 to January 2018, they served as the Director of Strategy and Operations at District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), with previous roles including Program Manager, Human Resources Specialist, and Business Manager.

Tekia Stokes, SHRM-SCP, PHR, holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Trinity Washington University. Tekia also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Virginia State University. Additionally, Tekia has obtained several certifications including the SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM, the Certified Professional Diversity Coach from the CoachDiversity Institute, and the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) from HRCI. Tekia obtained their PHR® certification in July 2019, their SHRM-SCP certification in July 2022, and their Certified Professional Diversity Coach certification in May 2022.
