Al Tyus Jr.

Al Tyus Jr. is a seasoned software engineer specializing in iOS development, currently holding the position of Senior iOS Software Engineer at DoorDash since October 2024. With prior experience at Maven Clinic and Lyft in the same role, Al has a proven track record of innovation and leadership in mobile engineering. Notable achievements include establishing a mobile tech stack and leading a team at MakeSpace, where Al successfully migrated a codebase from Objective-C to Swift and launched an AR experience featured by Apple. Al's background also includes significant contributions to curriculum development and instructional roles at The Flatiron School, as well as extensive experience in product development and IT solutions across various organizations, including Mac-Tech LLC and Apple Inc. Al holds a BFA in Film/Television from New York University and further honed technical skills at The Flatiron School.
