Francesco Piraino

Francesco Piraino, PhD, has a strong background in product management, field applications, and scientific research. Francesco is currently the Head of Product Management at Doppl SA since August 2023. Previously, they worked at Quanterix from 2017 to 2022, holding roles as a Product Manager, Senior Field Applications Scientist, and Field Applications Scientist. At Quanterix, they presented and demonstrated Single Molecule Array technology to customers worldwide and developed positive customer relationships. Before that, Francesco worked as a Scientist at EPFL from 2013 to 2017, where they led a molecular diagnostic research project and supervised a Ph.D. student. Francesco also served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Broad Institute from 2012 to 2013, supporting a research program on microbial detection. Francesco began their career as a Graduate Research Fellow at MIT and Harvard Medical School, managing multiple projects resulting in published articles and conference presentations.

Francesco Piraino, PhD, has a strong educational background in biomedical engineering. Francesco obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2011. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field in 2006. Additionally, they briefly studied medicine at Universitat de Barcelona in 2007 and spent some time studying bioengineering and biomedical engineering at The City College of New York in 2008. Francesco Piraino also holds various certifications, including a driving value through business acumen certificate from INSEAD Executive Education and a PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from APMG International. Francesco is also registered as a Professional Engineer from Politecnico di Milano since 2009.
