Lewis Heayns

Lewis Heayns is currently working as the Engineering Team Lead at Dorman Products, where they oversee a team of five engineers and assigns project priorities. Prior to this role, they served as a Mechanical Engineer III at Dorman Products, focusing on the development of wheel and hub hardware. Before joining Dorman Products, Lewis worked as a Project Engineer at Victaulic, where they played a role in developing tools for creating grooves in pipes. Lewis also gained experience as a Design & Compliance Engineer at Insinger Machine Co., where they designed and developed products for new and existing markets. In addition, Lewis has held positions as a Test Engineer at Hearst Magazines, a Project Manager at Mill Meadow Eco Lodges, and a Collingwood College Hires Manager at Durham University. Lewis also has experience in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and has worked as an Engineering Consultant at Parker domnick hunter, an Engineering Intern at S. S. Papadopulos & Associates, Inc, and a Sales Associate at Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc.

Lewis Heayns earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Durham University, which they attended from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Queens College, Taunton from 2002 to 2009, although no specific degree or field of study was provided. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the "Essentials of Project Management for the Non-Project Manager" certification from the American Management Association in 2021. In addition, they obtained the "GD&T Fundamentals" certification from GEOMETRIC LEARNING SYSTEMS in 2021. Lastly, they earned the FA Level 1 Coaching Award from The Football Association in 2007. Lewis is currently pursuing certifications in "Managing the Performance of Others," "Authentic Leadership," and "Leadership Challenge" from Northampton Community College, with an expected completion date in 2023.
