Larry Makel

Larry Makel is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in various partner roles at prominent law firms, including Dorsey & Whitney LLP since March 2017, Schiff Hardin LLP from October 2014 to March 2017, and Squire Patton Boggs from July 1997 to October 2014. In addition to a robust legal career, Larry Makel founded Highland Bancshares, Inc., serving as Vice Chairman and Chair of the Director's Loan Committee until its merger with ViewPoint Bank. Larry also co-founded Capital Point Partners, L.P., focusing on mezzanine fund investments, and played a pivotal role in establishing Texas Capital Bancshares & Texas Capital Bank, N.A., the largest de novo bank in the U.S. Educational credentials include a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law, a Doctor of Law from West Virginia University College of Law, and a Bachelor's Degree from Washington & Jefferson College.
