Arin B. Aurora is a cancer biologist with a successful academic track record identifying metabolic adaptions that cancer cells acquire to overcome barriers to metastasis.
She was a faculty member in the Children’s Research Institute at UT Southwestern for over 7 years, where she helped establish a patient melanoma biobank and developed novel molecular tools that led to the discovery of several mechanisms used by melanoma cells to form distant metastases.
Prior to her faculty position, Arin performed postdoctoral work at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, studying angiogenic inhibitors and at UT Southwestern, where she made important discoveries toward understanding the connections between the immune system and the capacity of the mammalian heart to repair and regenerate.
