Approximately one mile from the Cape Fear, the hospital is located in the coastal historic town of Southport, N.C. in Brunswick County. The hospital is overseen by a publicly-elected Board of Trustees and generously supported by a volunteer force of nearly 200, making Dosher Hospital unique in the state of North Carolina. We serve the areas of Southport, St. James, Oak Island, Caswell Beach, Boiling Spring Lakes, Bolivia, Holden Beach, Calabash, Wilmington, Bald Head Island, and Brunswick County.
