Alister Campbell's work experience includes various roles in the pharmaceutical and scientific field. Alister started their career at AstraZeneca as a Chemist in 1999, before moving to BioFocus Discovery Ltd as a Chemist in 2000. Alister then joined Merck Sharp & Dohme as a Medicinal Chemist from 2000 to 2006.
In 2006, they worked as a Medicinal Chemist at the Medical Research Council for a short period of time. Alister then joined GlaxoSmithKline as a Senior Scientist from 2007 to 2008, focusing on high throughput synthesis and medicinal chemistry.
Since 2010, Alister has been associated with Dotmatics, starting as an Applications Scientist and eventually becoming the Global Head of Application Science. Dotmatics specializes in web-based informatics and business intelligence tools for the pharmaceutical, biotech, oil & gas, and food & beverage industries.
In their current role as Vice President and Global Head of Science and Technology at Dotmatics, Alister oversees the pre-sales to post-sales support for the Dotmatics suite of tools, providing software installation, database and application configuration, and consultancy services.
Alister Campbell attended the University of Strathclyde from 1995 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Pure & Applied Chemistry.
