Joseph Garappolo

Joseph Garappolo, a cofounder of Doubleknot, formed the company to provide leverageable technology solutions and services to membership-based nonprofit organizations.

After years of personal involvement with nonprofit organizations, including holding positions for the Boy Scouts of America, as a fundraising volunteer for community schools, and as a contributor to several community and cause-related organizations, Joe realized that these organizations could take advantage of economies of scale to implement processes and solutions that would otherwise be out of their financial reach.

Prior to Doubleknot, Joe was a Senior Vice President for the US practice of Burntsand, a publicly traded international IT consultancy. Joe was responsible for all of Burntsand’s business operations in the US.

Before joining Burntsand, Joe was CEO and co-founder of Altro Solutions, an international provider of business strategy consulting, software development, and systems integration specializing in content-enhanced e-solutions. At Altro, Joe led the company’s growth to over $28 million annually. Burntsand acquired Altro Solutions in 2000.

Prior to founding Altro, Joe was a partner with KPMG. He worked in both the New York and San Francisco offices of KPMG. He began his career after graduation working for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York.

Joe holds undergraduate degrees in Photograph Science and Engineering and Professional Photography, and an M.S. in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.
