Dr. Emily Abrams Massey

Dr. Emily Abrams Massey has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Dr. Emily currently serves as the Interim Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Dougherty County School System since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Leadership Coach at the Georgia Department of Education starting from May 2022. In 2021, they were an Adjunct Professor at Clark Atlanta University. Dr. Massey is also the founder and CEO of The Principal Dynamic, LLC since September 2017. Previously, they held the position of Associate Superintendent K-8 Schools at Atlanta Public Schools from August 2015 to July 2021, where they provided instructional support to principals, implemented professional learning opportunities, and led district monitoring. Dr. Emily has also served as a Principal and Assistant Principal at Fulton County Schools from 1998 to 2015.

Dr. Emily Abrams Massey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Fort Valley State University in 1991. Dr. Emily then pursued a Master of Science degree in Middle Grades Education at the same university, completing it in 1992. Dr. Abrams Massey later obtained an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Clark Atlanta University in 1996. Dr. Emily'shighest academic achievement is a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, which they received from Clark Atlanta University in 2006. In 2022, they obtained a certification in "Psychological Safety: Clear Blocks to Innovation, Collaboration, and Risk-Taking" from LinkedIn.
