Aja Anderson is a dedicated Community Health Educator with extensive experience in public health initiatives. Currently serving at the Douglas County Health Department since June 2012, Aja specializes in tobacco prevention, providing technical assistance for smoke-free policies, increasing media exposure for tobacco control issues, and enhancing community awareness on related topics. Aja’s notable contributions include aiding Omaha’s recognition as a top city for smoke-free housing and co-developing the health department's social media presence. Previously, from February 2011 to June 2012, Aja worked with the State of Nebraska, focusing on grant development and community health education, specifically in breast cancer programs. Aja holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
