Tom McDonald has extensive experience in public works and construction management, currently serving as the Manager of Construction and Maintenance for Douglas County Nebraska since March 2007, where responsibilities include budget preparation and oversight of road and bridge construction. Previously, Tom held the position of Street Maintenance Manager for the City of Omaha, managing maintenance of 4,200 lane miles of roads, and served as Street Superintendent, overseeing operations and personnel. Additional roles were held in various management positions across Public Works Construction Division, Traffic Division, and Street Maintenance. Tom also served as the elected President of the Civilian Management, Professional and Technical Employees Council, representing management during negotiations. Additionally, Tom was a part-time instructor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, teaching Public Administration classes. Tom holds a Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on Municipal Administration, Budgeting, and Finance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
