Douglas Education Service District is a mid-sized ESD and offers collaborative, high-quality, equitable, cost-effective, and locally responsive educational services to our regional community and thirteen component school districts. Some services extend to Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake Counties, and beyond. By prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion, Douglas ESD is building a stronger organization that is innovative and in service to the community. More than 300 full- and part-time administrative, confidential, licensed, contracted and classified professionals provide vital services to advance student achievement for all children. The agency offers special needs services, behavioral services, early learning, education services, information technology, and administrative and support services. Douglas ESD is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors elected to four-year terms by regional citizens. Five of the board members are elected based on geographical zones and the remaining two are elected “at-large” throughout the county. Douglas ESD is accountable to the Douglas ESD Board, public-at-large, component school districts, and the State Board of Education. There are opportunities for component school districts to participate in decisions about services and programs offered. In addition, the agency partners with area-wide organizations to enhance the services provided to youth and families.
