Paul holds a BSc (Hons), and a PhD, in chemistry, and has over 30 years’ professional experience, encompassing both the private and government sectors, and the environmental, mining and petrochemical industries.
His experiences in industrial process development, and operational improvement projects, give him a firm understanding of the manner in which industrial activities can affect the land on which they sit, and the neighbouring environment. As a former Manager with EPA Victoria he has a strong understanding of regulatory settings and processes.
As an EPA-accredited Auditor in Victoria and New South Wales, Paul has completed nearly 40 contaminated site Audits in the past eight years. In addition, he has been involved in the assessment, clean up and assistance to other auditors, on close to 200 sites across Australia. He provides advice and specialised technical back up across Douglas Partner' network of offices. Paul has also provided expert evidence across a range of matters involving environmental chemicals, and contaminated land.
Paul is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and a Chartered Chemist, and writes a bi-monthly column for RACI's member magazine Chemistry in Australia. He has also been a member of National bodies including the Council of NATA, the National Dioxins Project Team and the review team for the contaminated sites National Environment Protection Measure.
