August Leopold

August Leopold is an experienced environmental health specialist currently working with Douglas County, Wisconsin, since October 2022, where responsibilities include educating and ensuring compliance with public health laws for licensed establishments. Prior to this role, August served as an undergraduate research assistant at the Energy & Environmental Research Center from December 2019 to May 2022, focusing on mercury and chlorine analysis in environmental samples. Additionally, August worked as a general chemistry teaching assistant at the University of North Dakota for a brief period in early 2021. August holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of North Dakota, awarded in 2022.
