Steve Lail, MPA, MCSO, currently serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Down East Community Hospital since July 2016, overseeing operations at a 25-bed critical access hospital in Maine, with annual revenues of $45 million. Additionally, Lail holds the position of President and CEO at Calais Community Hospital since March 2021. Previously, Lail has held significant leadership roles, including Administrative Director of Laboratory Services at Whidbey General Hospital, Director of Ancillary Services at Coulee Medical Center, and Director of Laboratory Services at Saint Alphonsus. Lail possesses an extensive educational background with a Master's in Clinical Service Operations from Harvard Medical School and an Executive Master's in Public Administration from the University of Washington, complemented by a BS in Accounting and an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
