Katharina Fachin Lucas

Katharina Fachin Lucas is an experienced educator with a diverse teaching background, currently serving as a German Teacher at Downingtown Area School District since August 2015, where the focus is on introducing sixth graders to the German language and culture and teaching eighth graders to read, write, and speak German. Prior roles include teaching German at Pottsgrove School District and serving as a third-grade teacher at Immanuel German School. With experience in private tutoring and teaching German through music at Immanuel German Language School, Katharina also held significant positions such as Chair of the Teacher Preparation Program at Nichols College, where responsibilities included teaching various education courses and supervising student teachers. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Education from the University of New Hampshire, an MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Political Science and German Literature from Penn State University.
