Emily Shapiro

Emily Shapiro currently serves as the Senior Manager at DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) since November 2022. Additionally, Emily has been the Director of Partnerships and Programs at JamQuest since March 2015, managing communications with the team in Nairobi, Kenya. Previous roles include Emergency Services Supervisor at REST Real Escape from the Sex Trade, Court Services Coordinator at InterAct of Wake, and Assistant Director at SWAMP CAMP SERVICES INC, where Emily led a summer camp for over 2,500 children. Emily has also volunteered in disaster relief for the Red Cross and served as a Youth and Family Ministry Leader at Triangle Church. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies from Lincoln Christian University and a Bachelor's degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Western Carolina University.
