Austin Metoyer

Austin Metoyer has held various roles throughout their work experience. In 2016, they joined the Downtown Long Beach Alliance as a Research & Policy Manager, overseeing initiatives and programs to improve downtown's quality of life and economy. Austin later became an Economic Development & Policy Manager, focusing on advocacy, business retention, and policy work. In 2022, Austin was promoted to President & CEO of the organization. Additionally, they served as an Economic Development Commissioner for the City of Long Beach since 2019. Before that, Austin worked as a Project Analyst and Intern at Brailsford & Dunlavey, where they maximized value and mitigated risk for clients. Austin also interned at the Mayor's Office of Business and Economic Policy in the City of Los Angeles and the National Foreign Trade Council. Austin has a background in international trade and business development, having interned at the World Trade Center Association Los Angeles - Long Beach. Austin began their career as a Veterinary Technician at VetCare Pet Clinic.

Austin Metoyer has a strong education background in the field of urban planning and real estate development. From 2019 to 2021, they attended the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, where they earned a Master of Urban Planning, Real Estate Development. Before that, from 2006 to 2011, Austin attended the College of Business at California State University-Long Beach, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Japanese. Austin's educational journey began at Long Beach Polytechnic High from 2002 to 2006, where they completed their high school education with a focus on the CIC field of study.

In addition to their academic degrees, Austin Metoyer also obtained a certificate in the Introduction to Economic Development Program from California State University, Fresno, in October 2019.
