Dowser Labs is a newsroom technology company building tools for the business of truth. A free press is how truth reaches the public, but adversaries work to pollute and distort the record, and the journalists and investigators who hold the line bear real personal and professional risk. We build the tools that help them carry the work through — for journalists, newsrooms, NGOs, legal investigators, and others whose work depends on protecting sources and verifying what those sources share.

Our first product, SourceNote, is newsroom intelligence for source protection and verification. Encrypted messaging apps secure conversations but still expose metadata, traffic patterns, and call signals that can reveal critical intelligence. SourceNote makes that exposure visible on the journalist's own device — so newsrooms can detect risks, analyze encrypted activity, and verify communications without breaking encryption. Processing is on-device by default: no telemetry, no cloud-stored data, and message content is never captured, decrypted, or stored.
