Joe was the EVP Worldwide Creative Director at Cheil Worldwide and the Co-President Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather, leading creative teams and attracting new clients.

Joe also held the position of Co-President Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi and worked as an Associate Creative Director at Dailey & Associates earlier in their career.

Joe McDonagh attended Washington State University from 1974 to 1975, where they studied Advertising, Design, and Communications. Joe then went on to the School of Visual Concepts from 1976 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Strategy, Art Direction, Copywriting, and Concepting.
