Leigh Newby

Leigh Newby currently serves as the Global Head of Health & Safety at Dr. Martens plc since September 2025. Prior to this role, Leigh held various positions at Burberry from December 2014 to September 2025, including Senior Manager - Fire, Health & Safety, Fire, Health & Safety Manager, Campus Health and Safety Manager, and Campus Health and Safety Advisor. Leigh also worked as a Health and Safety Advisor at Harrods from October 2007 to December 2014 and gained part-time experience as a Fire, Health and Safety Advisor at H.Evans Ltd in 2011-2012. Earlier experience includes being a Firefighter at Kent Fire and Rescue Service from 2004 to 2008, where advanced training and operational experience were acquired in dealing with road traffic collisions and engaging in community fire safety initiatives. Leigh holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment from Middlesex University, completed between 2013 and 2015.
