Michelle Brown Colistro is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in copywriting and brand strategy across various industries. Currently serving as Communications Lead at Dr. Peter Centre, Michelle previously held the role of Senior Copywriter & Creative Strategist at Vega, where significant contributions included a comprehensive brand relaunch and the overhaul of marketing collateral and digital presence. Prior to Vega, Michelle worked at Sago Mini, overseeing brand communication and leading successful product launches. Other notable experiences include founding Matchpoint Fabric LLC, where sustainable practices were prioritized, and various positions in advertising and education. Academically, Michelle holds degrees from University of Toronto, Humber College, and University of Victoria. Recognized for excellence, Michelle has received multiple awards in the advertising field.
Dr. Peter Centre
Since 1997, the Dr. Peter Centre manages day health programs, a 24-hour licensed care residence, and an enhanced supportive housing program. The Centre is recognized as the first health care facility in North America to integrate supervised injection services into its model of care. Located in Vancouver’s West End, the Centre is open seven days a week and serves 73,500 nutrient-dense meals to participants and residents every year. The Centre uses an integrated model with multiple entry points to engage individuals in their health care with a specific goal of improved adherence to HIV treatment and overall improved health. The Centre provides three core programs: Day Health Program: A seven-day-a-week day health program that provides a therapeutic milieu to ensure uninterrupted engagement in treatment, including: • Adherence to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) and other medications • Access to advanced nursing care and nutrient-dense meals • Use of counselling, art and music therapy • A safe place for social engagement and peer interaction 24-hour Specialized Nursing Care Residence: A 24-hour licensed care facility provides specialized nursing care for adults with HIV/AIDS and complex health issues including mental illness and addiction. Enhanced Supportive Housing Program: Individual furnished suites with staff providing a series of customized supports, including: case management, housekeeping and individualized living skills support. Daily nutritional, nursing, counselling and recreation therapy is provided through the day health program, and after hours nursing support is provided through the 24-hour specialized nursing care residence.
