Anil Kumar Challa

Anil Kumar Challa is an experienced academic and researcher currently serving as an Adjunct Professor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to teaching, Anil holds the position of Assistant Director of the Transgenic & Genetically Engineered Model Systems Core, where genetic technologies are developed and optimized for rodent and zebrafish model systems. Anil has also held visiting scientist roles at UT Health San Antonio and Dr. Reddy's Institute of Life Sciences, focusing on genetic models of human genes and disorders. Previous positions include postdoctoral researcher roles at the Medical College of Wisconsin and The Ohio State University, as well as co-founding Indigenese Biotechnologies. Anil's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University and specialized training in Zebrafish Biology and Mathematical Biology.
