Jaco Engelbrecht

Jaco Engelbrecht is a seasoned electrical engineer with extensive experience in the minerals and mining industry. Currently serving as Principal Electrical Engineer at DRA Global since November 2007, Jaco leads a project team focusing on electrical, control, and instrumentation (E, C, and I) works on EPCM contracts, and is responsible for writing technical specifications and design criteria. Previously, Jaco worked at Bateman Engineered Technologies as an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, managing projects such as the commissioning of the Mondi Merebank Bag Filter plant and the design of control panels for the BKM Khumani Iron Ore Mine. Early career experience includes engineering positions at Highveld Steel - Vanchem, where responsibilities encompassed plant maintenance and acting supervisory roles. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Wits Business School, a Certificate in Executive Management from the University of La Verne, and M.Ing and B.Ing degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Johannesburg.
