James Michael Stanley has a diverse work experience in the fields of design and gaming. James Michael started their career as a 3D Environment Artist Intern at Kaneva in 2011, where they learned content creation and created 3D assets for an internship project. James Michael then worked at Qualcomm as a Lead Game Designer and Lead Artist, designing augmented reality games and creating polished demos. James later joined NBC as a Lead Environment Artist, responsible for creating 3D content and lighting for a film. James Michael also worked at MOWGLI, LLC as a Lead Artist and Animator, creating 2D content and animations using Adobe Flash.

James then worked as a Freelance Game Artist before joining Addo Games as an Artist and Game Designer, where they designed enemy waves, game flow systems, and created 2D concepts and in-game models. James Michael then worked at Thrust Interactive as a 2D Artist and Game Designer, creating UI elements and documenting UX workflows.

James moved on to work at Secret Library as a Lead Artist, creating sprite art and 2D assets for a game called "Hot Mess." James Michael also communicated with designers and developers to define the art's tone and feeling. James Michael later joined Dragon Army as an Art Director, leading a team to create 2D and 3D assets for gaming experiences. James Michael was also responsible for creating initial visual aesthetics and managing the art team.

James Michael also co-formed The Hatchery, an internal experimental design and technology group.

Additionally, they worked as a DEIJ Committee Member at AMA Atlanta, assisting in brand and design strategy for events and social media.
