Fernando Amorim

Fernando Amorim has a wealth of experience in the IT and engineering industries. Fernando began their career in 1997 as a Mechanical Engineer Trainee at Perfipar S/A Manufaturados de Aço, where they conducted quality control tests on the company's metal products. In 1998, they moved to AUTOMAT ENGENHARIA DE AUTOMAÇÃO as a Cad Drafter, where they were responsible for supporting the design and drafting of electrical systems and components for automated substations. In 2001, they joined Siemens (Brazil) as a Computer Support Technician, where they were responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer peripherals. In 2004, they became an Independent Computer Repair Technician, specializing in diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and software issues for a wide range of clients. In 2009, they took on the role of Managing Director at SEOforBIZ.NET. From 2014 to 2015, they were the IT Manager of Dragon Pharma USA LLC, overseeing the management and maintenance of all IT-related systems in the company. Finally, in 2021, they joined UATIP - UNIVERSIDADE DO AUTODIDACTA E DA TERCEIRA IDADE DO PORTO as an Adult Education Teacher, teaching a class called "Temas do Mundo Atual" (Current World Issues). In this weekly online class, they focus on media misinformation, fake news, and manipulation and provides their students with the tools they need to recognize these issues and break down the disinformation present in the information vehicles that distort the interpretation of the world.

Fernando Amorim is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Electoral Studies at ULP - Universidade Lusófona do Porto, beginning in 2020. Prior to this, they attended Universidade Positivo from 2002 to 2004, studying Computer Engineering. Fernando also attended Universidade Federal do Paraná from 2004 to 2004, studying Social Science, and from 1999 to 2000, studying Geology. Additionally, they attended Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná from 1995 to 1998, studying Mechanical Engineering, and Universidade de Passo Fundo from 1994 to 1995, studying Mechanical Engineering.

In addition to their educational history, Fernando Amorim has obtained several certifications. These include a Current Issues of Law - The Impact of the Ukrainian War on International Relations: The New World Order certification from ULP - Universidade Lusófona do Porto in July 2022, a Current Issues of Law - War and Peace in Europe: a look from Poland certification from ULP - Universidade Lusófona do Porto in March 2022, an Introduction to Amnesty International certification from Amnesty International in December 2021, a The Right to Protest certification from Amnesty International in December 2021, a Classical Sociological Theory certification from UvA in November 2021, a Communication theory: bridging academia and practice certification from National Research University - Higher School of Economics in October 2021, a Course of Italian Fascism: History of a Dictatorship certification from Università degli Studi di Padova in September 2021, and a Quantitative Methodology in Scientific Research certification from Universidade de Coimbra in July 2021.
