Nathan Michlo's work experience begins with an internship at Greystone Technologies in 2018. After that, they became a postgraduate student at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they co-created and co-lectured an introductory Linux course for first-year students. Nathan also worked as a tutor for third-year operating systems and conducted research on improving Population Based Training using Multi-Armed Bandit techniques and VAE Disentangled Representations. Nathan received awards for being the best Wits tutor of 2020 and best Comp. Sci. During their time at the university, they gained valuable experience and knowledge in computer science.
More recently, Nathan joined Dragonfruit AI in 2022. Nathan initially served as a Machine Learning Engineer, building and deploying machine learning models for live inference over CCTV systems. Nathan also worked on the MLOps pipeline, including automated testing, experiment tracking, and data handling. Currently, Nathan holds the position of Full Stack & Machine Learning Engineer at Dragonfruit AI.
Nathan Michlo has a strong educational background in computer science. Nathan attended St. David's Marist Inanda from 2011 to 2015, where they completed their Independent Examiners Board qualification. Nathan then pursued higher education at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Starting in 2016, Nathan enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program at the University of the Witwatersrand, majoring in Computer Science. Nathan successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2018. Following this, Nathan continued their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2019.
In 2022, Nathan Michlo furthered their education at the University of the Witwatersrand, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. This recent accomplishment demonstrates their commitment to advancing their knowledge and skills in the field.
