Molly Nelson

Molly Nelson is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in broadcasting and sports analysis. Since April 2019, Molly has served as a TV Show Host and Content Strategist at Merkle Retirement Planning. Additionally, Molly has been the ESPN color analyst for Drake University's women's basketball games since 2012. From March 2013 to March 2025, Molly worked as a color analyst and sideline reporter for the Iowa High School Sports Network, covering the Iowa High School Boys State Tournament. Previous roles include Director at the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation, TV Show Host for Weiss-Merkle Financial, color analyst for the IGHSAU State Basketball Tournament, and host of Discover DMACC at Des Moines Area Community College. Molly's career began as a news reporter at KCCI-TV from January 2006 to June 2012. Molly holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Drake University.
