Emile van der Merwe

Emile van der Merwe has worked in various engineering roles throughout their career. They started their work experience as a Summer Intern at Aurecon in November 2012. Subsequently, they worked as a Junior Engineer at Triz Engineering Solutions from January 2014 to March 2015. Emile then joined Autocar Trucks as a Design Engineer in April 2015, where they worked until September 2022. During this time, they gained valuable experience in product design. In 2021, Emile joined Ivy Tech Richmond as an Adjunct Faculty member. Currently, starting from September 2022, they hold the position of Product Design Engineer at Draper, Inc.

Emile van der Merwe completed a Technical Certificate in Business Administration at Ivy Tech Community College, starting at an unknown year and finishing in 2023. Prior to that, Emile attended Stellenbosch University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, but the start and end dates for this degree are not specified.

In addition to their formal education, Emile van der Merwe obtained several certifications from the SACA (Smart Automation Certification Alliance). They obtained the SACA-215 Robotic Operations certification in October 2022, the SACA-209 Pneumatic Systems 1 certification in November 2021, and the SACA-202 Electrical Motor Control Systems certification in October 2021.
