Alex Gomez is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in electrical engineering and robotics. Currently serving as Principal Member of Technical Staff and Task Leader at Draper since September 2022, Alex previously worked at Boston Engineering Corporation for over 23 years, advancing to the role of Engineering Fellow, where significant contributions included leading the development of an ROS-based autonomous indoor robot for ice resurfacing. Earlier roles included Principal Electrical Engineer and Senior Electrical Engineer at IPEC Precision, where Alex engineered servo systems and power controls for production-level silicon wafer machines. Initial experience includes work as an Electrical Engineer at Hughes Danbury Optical Systems, focusing on high-accuracy servo systems and modeling deformable telescopes using MATLAB.
