Ian Claypool

Ian Claypool is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in space systems engineering and avionics architecture, currently serving as Principal Member of Technical Staff at Draper Laboratory since June 2007, specializing in high-reliability systems and flight computer requirements for the Human Lander System. Prior to this, Ian held various engineering roles including Mission Systems Engineer at Boeing Satellite Design Center, where responsibilities encompassed flight operations for critical government spacecraft, and Senior Staff Engineer at Hughes Space and Communications, focusing on ground product development for satellite platforms. Ian's earlier career includes roles at Dynacs Engineering, The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the USAF, complemented by a PhD in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from The Ohio State University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Northridge, and a BS in Astronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy.
