Aakash Shah

Aakash Shah is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in information security and compliance. Currently leading Engineering for Compliance as Code at Drata since 2024, Aakash focuses on integrating security and compliance into product development. As co-founder and CTO of oak9 since January 2018, Aakash has played a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of development teams by bridging the gap between security and rapid delivery. Previous experience includes serving as a Security Architect and Strategist in the healthcare sector from September 2016 to February 2019, where Aakash helped organizations navigate transformations in a changing market. Aakash also contributed to information security at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and gained research experience at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, U.S. Army CERDEC, and Gas Technology Institute. Aakash holds a Master’s degree in Information Security from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
