Director Of Engineering - Capital Projects

Steve Austin is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Director of Engineering - Capital Projects at Drax Group since January 2014. In this role, Steve Austin is responsible for the engineering delivery of all Group Capital Projects, including the retrofit of Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage (CCUS) on existing brownfield assets and the development of new Global Bio Energy Carbon Capture & Storage (BECCS) power plants. Prior to this position, Steve Austin was the Engineering Manager for a repowering project, overseeing the conversion of coal-fired steam turbine generators to Combined Cycle Gas Turbines. Steve Austin previously held positions at Drax Power Ltd, including Lead Turbine Engineer and Section Head of the Turbine Support Group. Education includes attendance at Selby High School from 1982 to 1987.
