Nis Rømer

Nis Rømer currently serves as Artist in Residence at Holbæk Kommune since January 2025 and as a member of Denmark's National UNESCO Commission since May 2024, where involvement includes advising the Danish government on UNESCO-related matters. As a founder and board member of Skovgro, active since March 2022, Nis Rømer engages in initiatives concerning forest, biodiversity, and water preservation through art and research. Other roles include representation in various organizations such as Dansk Flygtningehjælp, Statens Kunstfond, and Dansk Kulturinstitut, alongside chairperson duties at Dansk kunstnerråd, where important outcomes include the development of communal arts policies and first-ever statistics for artists. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Governance from Copenhagen Business School and postgraduate studies in urban planning and audio-visual arts.
