Emily Cullom is an Investor Accelerator Venture Fellow at Dream VC, Africa's leading venture capital institute, since May 2025, focusing on leadership development for seasoned professionals transitioning into investing. Prior to this role, Emily spent over a decade at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where responsibilities included head of component for municipal capacities in Libya, promoting decentralization, women's empowerment, and MSME support, while also serving in various managerial roles related to employment and entrepreneurship. Emily's early career included positions at UNESCO, volunteer project management at Irundu Primary and Vocational School, and other internships, complemented by a Master's degree in International Relations and Affairs from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts in French and History from Canterbury Christ Church University.

Dream VC
Dream VC is an African-focused investor accelerator and venture capital institute. Dream VC creates and delivers educational programs focused on startup investment and actively imparts knowledge to emerging investors and key investment stakeholders across the African venture value chain through our core and supplementary trainings. To date, Dream VC have successfully run multiple programs with participants from over 30 different countries. Our programs are highly selective with a ~4 % acceptance rate. We now have 170+ fellow alumni, who have started, currently lead or work at Venture Capital, Private Equity and Impact Funds, collectively managing nearly $6bn in AUM.
