Jenn Whiting

Jenn Whiting has a diverse work experience in various design roles. In their current position as a UX Designer at DreamBox Learning since 2021, they focus on dashboard interaction, accessibility, design systems, and data visualization. Jenn is also responsible for integrating multiple products for newly acquired and growing edtech products.

Prior to that, Jenn worked as a Digital Experience Designer at JNW Creative from 2015, where they designed and developed websites and branding solutions for small businesses and organizations. Jenn conducted market and user research, created site maps, wireframes, and UI style guides, built sites using CMS platforms, and improved sites with custom code. Jenn also ran brand discovery workshops with clients and created logo suites, brand guidelines, and other business collateral.

Jenn also worked as a UX Designer at Microsoft from 2020 to 2021, where they contributed to UX design projects. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at REI as an Interaction Designer and Learning Experience Designer. Prior to their design roles, Jenn has experience as a Gardener at Fruits to Fronds from 2013 to 2014, and as a Production Artist & Aquatic Ecology Technician at Aquatic Restoration and Research Institute from 2012 to 2012. Jenn also served as a Restoration Specialist and Restoration Field Crewmember at Washington Conservation Corps from 2010 to 2012, where they supported flood observations, collected stream gauge data, aided in surveys, and performed restoration work.

Jenn Whiting has a diverse education history. Jenn attended the Seattle Central Creative Academy where they studied UI/UX Design and Graphic Design. Additionally, they attended the Gage Academy of Art where they focused on Natural Science Illustration and Classical Art.

Jenn then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida.

In terms of certifications, Jenn obtained several, including "Instructional Design: Needs Analysis" and "Measuring Learning Effectiveness" from LinkedIn in October 2020. Jenn also obtained the certification for "Instructional Design Essentials: Models of ID" from LinkedIn in September 2020.
