Jennifer Gaskins, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and astrophysics. Jennifer has recently been appointed as the Head of Data Science at Dressipi, starting in August 2022. Prior to this, they volunteered as a Data Scientist at HappyCow since August 2019. From July 2022 to August 2022, they worked as a Principal Data Scientist at Vista, and before that, they held the position of Lead Data Scientist from October 2019 to July 2022 at the same company.
Jennifer took a career break and went on world travels from April 2019 to October 2019. Their earlier work experience includes roles such as a Data Scientist at Booking.com from May 2016 to April 2019, a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Amsterdam from October 2014 to April 2016, and a Member of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) Consortium from August 2013 to April 2016.
Jennifer was also an Affiliated Scientist at the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope from March 2009 until 2016. Prior to that, they worked as an Einstein Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology from October 2011 to September 2014, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics from September 2008 to September 2011.
Jennifer Gaskins, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree (ScB) in Physics and Theatre from Brown University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Jennifer then pursued further education at the University of Chicago, where they obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics in 2003. Jennifer continued their studies at the University of Chicago and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics in 2008.
In addition to their academic degrees, Jennifer Gaskins has also obtained several certifications. In 2019, they obtained certifications in Applied Data Science with Python Specialization and Recommender Systems Specialization from Coursera. In the same year, they also obtained the Google Analytics Individual Qualification from Google. Most recently, in 2020, they completed the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera.
