Neal Connors

Neal Connors is an accomplished biotechnology professional with extensive experience in fermentation, industrial microbiology, and bioprocess development. As the Owner and President of Phoenix BioConsulting, LLC since 2009, Neal provides expert consulting services as a cost-effective virtual team member. In addition to this role, Neal has served as a Fellow at the Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti (RISE) at Drew University since 2012, focusing on microbial applications for natural product synthesis. Previous leadership positions include Head of Bioprocess and Executive Director at Curie Co, Director of Research at the Institute For Life Science Entrepreneurship, and Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at KALION, INC. Neal's industry contributions also include serving as President of the Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology and a Senior Investigator at Merck. Neal holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from The Ohio State University and a BS in Biology with a chemistry minor from Norwich University.
