Instructor Pilot - Kc-135 Aircrew Training Systems (ats) at DRG

James O'Connell has extensive work experience in the aviation industry. James began their career in 1992 with the United States Air Force as a Senior Command Post Controller. Over the years, they held various roles such as KC-135R Aircraft Commander, T-1A Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Instructor Pilot, and Assistant Director of Operations. James also served as an Exchange Officer at the Global Plans Office of the HQ Joint Operations Command. In 2013, they joined the 92d Air Refueling Wing as the Wing Historian and later became an Employment Equal Opportunity Counselor/Mediator. In 2016, they joined Delaware Resource Group as an Instructor Pilot for KC-135 Aircrew Training Systems. Currently, they work as a First Officer for Alaska Airlines.

James O'Connell completed their bachelors from the United States Air Force Academy in Military History between 1987 and 1991. Following this, they pursued further education and obtained a Masters of Aeronautical Science in Aerospace Operations from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1993 and 1998. In addition to their formal education, James also holds a certification as an Airline Transport Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration.
