Karol Cordero

Karol Cordero, MBCP, is a distinguished Business Continuity Management (BCM) professional with extensive experience in international business development and instructional roles at DRI International since 2013. As the Director of International Business Development, Karol leads initiatives to expand DRI courses globally and has been a DRI Certified Instructor since 2013, teaching various BCM courses across multiple countries. Prior to DRI, Karol held roles at PwC as Latin America Marketing Director and Supervisor in Security & Technology and Business Continuity, gaining expertise in project management aligned with regulatory standards. Karol also served as a teacher at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and has a solid foundation in technology from previous positions at BAC Credomatic Network. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computing and Information from Universidad de Costa Rica and a Master's degree in Systems Engineering with a focus on Project Management from Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología.

Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) is the nonprofit that helps organizations around the world prepare for and recover from disasters by providing education, accreditation, and thought leadership in business continuity and related fields. Founded in 1988, DRI has certified 15,000+ resilience professionals in 100+ countries and at 95 percent of Fortune 100 companies. DRI offers 15 individual certifications, including the globally-recognized CBCP certification, and certifies resilient enterprises. DRI offers training progr DRI also serves continuity professionals through conferencing, outreach, and volunteerism. The annual DRI Conference brings resilience professionals together to network with experts and collaborate with their peers. Through its Collegiate Conferences series, DRI partners with universities to introduce students and faculty to this rapidly-growing profession. To further its outreach efforts, DRI introduced the 501(c)(3) non-profit Disaster Recovery International (DRI) Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to promote disaster risk reduction through partnership and education, as well as aid recovery efforts through fundraising and volunteerism. DRI is also an ANSI-accredited Standards Development Organization, a CQI and IRCA Approved Training Partner, and an International Organization Liaison Observer to ISO/TC 292 for standardization in the field of security to enhance the safety and resilience of society.
