Kayla Anderson started their work experience in 2011 at Downtown Community Television, where they worked as an SYEP for a period of one month. In 2012, they became a Camp Counselor at the SYEP Summer Camp Counselor for the Eastern District. The following year, in 2013, they worked as a Camp Counselor at Dalton Summer Camp. Later in 2013, Kayla joined Dribbl as a Basketball Coach.

Kayla Anderson pursued their education in a chronological order. From 2008 to 2015, they attended The Young Women's Leadership School of Brooklyn, where they completed their middle school and high school education. Following that, they enrolled at LaGuardia Community College from 2015 to 2017, where they achieved an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. Lastly, from 2018 to 2020, Kayla studied at John Jay College (CUNY) and obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sociology.
