Brian Chan has worked in the food industry since 2010. Brian began their career as a Quality Assurance Lead at Crystal Creamery, where they were promoted to Quality Systems Coordinator within six months. At Crystal Creamery, they were the SQF Practitioner in the successful SQF Level 3 certification at the Humboldt Creamery facility. In 2012, they moved to Torani / R. Torre & Company as a Quality Systems Engineer, where they were the HACCP Team Leader and developed food safety qualification plans. In 2015, they joined Jamba Juice as an Associate Manager, Quality Assurance, providing QA support for 800+Jamba Juice retail stores and 2000+ JambaGO stations domestically. At Revolution Foods, they were a Quality Assurance Manager from 2016-2018, overseeing food safety compliance across multiple business units. Since 2018, they have been the Senior Food Safety Manager and Food Safety QA Manager at Philz Coffee. In 2022, they became the Director, Quality Assurance at DripDrop ORS.
Brian Chan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Technology from the University of California, Davis in 2009. Brian has since taken courses at Michigan State University in International Food Laws and Regulations (FSC 810) and at Stanford Continuing Studies for Professional Development. Brian has also obtained certifications from the International HACCP Alliance, ServSafe, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, City of Chicago, National Environmental Health Association, Eurofins Group, International Food Protection Training Institute, Randolph Associates, Inc., and ServSafe. These certifications include HACCP Lead Instructor (2022), Certified ServSafe Instructor & Registered ServSafe Examination Proctor (2021), Better Process Control School (2021), Certified Food Service Sanitation Manager Instructor (2019), Food Safety Auditor (2019), Principles of Internal Auditing (2014), HACCP Certification (2014), FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food, SQF Certification, and ServSafe Food Protection Manager.
