Jim Wilhelmsen has had a long and varied career in the tech industry. From 1995 to 2001, they were Manager of Manufacturing/Repair Technician at CELADON, INC. From 2001 to 2005, they were Technology Sales Manager at Circuit City, where they managed sales staff for computer sales, mobile phone sales, digital cameras, and electronic accessories, and managed the computer repair business in the store. Jim was honored as the top sales manager in the district for their leadership of the department, and trained and enhanced the technical skills of the sales team in a one-on-one environment. From 2005 to present, Jim has been at DriveSavers Data Recovery and Digital Forensics, where they have held the roles of Operations Manager, Manager of Inbound Marketing Group, Database Development, and Customer Support, and Computer Support Engineer, ACMT, R&D Specialist, Recovery Technician, and Technical Trainer. In this role, they have provided post-recovery customer support integrating recovered data to clients' computers and developing recovery processes for newest devices. Jim has also produced "How To" videos for data recovery customers and provided training for non-engineering staff, designed customer support programs utilizing remote access support, identified common support scenarios and created a support knowledge base, collaborated with OEM manufacturers in development of tools for data recovery of solid state drives, trained in techniques for microsoldering of microscopic electronic components, custom designed and built over 50 computer workstations, recommended new features to the CRM database, developed internal engineering workflow processes based on customer feedback and experience, designed and presented training sessions on data recovery capabilities, produced and delivered presentations at trade show events and customer training facilities.

Jim Wilhelmsen attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Music Performance in Double Bass. Jim also attended the Heald Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1995, where they earned an Associates degree in Electronics. In 2018, they obtained Microsoldering Training for Apple Devices. In 2012, they obtained an Apple Macintosh Certified Technician certification from Apple.
