Laura Desplans

Laura Desplans currently serves as a Senior Analytics Engineer at DriveWealth, a role initiated in July 2025. Prior to this, Laura held positions as a Senior Analytics Engineer and Data Scientist at Stash from December 2021 to July 2025, utilizing tools such as SQL, Python, and AWS for data modeling and analysis. Previous experience includes working as an Economist at UBS and Deutsche Bank, focusing on data analysis, storytelling, and forecasting. Laura also completed a Summer Internship at the International Monetary Fund and held various academic roles, including a Teaching Assistant and Instructor at the University of Rochester. Additionally, Laura contributed as a Dissertation Intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and as a Research Assistant at Banco de España. Laura earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester, completing the degree in 2016.
