Shawn has over 35 years of experience in the IT industry, with a focus on Startups and Financial Services. He has successfully led groups by bringing together business, technology, and design skills to form creative solutions for diverse clients. Shawn’s prior work includes managing the delivery of complex trading, search, business intelligence, and system integration solutions for leading Financial Services clients. Lately, Shawn has been focused on the Blockchain space, developing both core decentralized infrastructure platforms and business applications on decentralized platforms. Prior to joining OpenCrowd in 2005, Shawn spent the previous ten years consulting for leading Financial Services firms, having held senior positions at CXO Systems, Scient, and Cambridge Technology Partners. In 1995, while at Cambridge Technology Partners, he launched some of the earliest FIX implementations on Wall Street, integrating both Buy-Side and Sell-Side firms such as Merrill Lynch and Fidelity. Before Cambridge Technology Partners, Shawn spent over eight years at Nasdaq developing advanced technology solutions within their Compliance, StockWatch Surveillance, and Product Development Trading departments. In 1995, Shawn successfully launched the first Nasdaq.com site.

Prior work delivered for Hedera Hashgraph, Securrency, J.P. Morgan, Credit Suisse, IBM, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Nasdaq, Epoch Partners, First Union, TD Waterhouse, Ameritrade, Charles Schwab, Royal & Sun Alliance, and the Witan Group.

Shawn received his B.S. degree in Information Systems from The University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1986.
