Waqar Arshad Cheema

Waqar Arshad Cheema is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Dryad Networks since December 2021, where the focus is on designing ML and AI systems to prevent forest fires. Previously, Waqar co-founded synsor.ai and contributed as a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in visual anomaly detection. Experience also includes serving as a Research Assistant at SMA Solar Technology AG, where cloud movement forecasting was the primary focus, and as part of a Master Thesis project at Bosch, enhancing speech recognition in noisy environments. Earlier roles include developing predictive models for renewable energy at the University of Kassel, consulting on big data solutions at 4Media, and improving drinking water quality analysis at Sir Syed CASE Institute of Technology. Waqar holds a Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Kassel and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the Institute of Space Technology.
